Good Practice Seekers
Developed in collaboration with the SENDIASS team and the Essex Youth Service, some of our ambassadors have been a big part in the ‘Good Practise Seekers’ model. The aim of GPS is to give young people the autonomy and voice to assess how inclusive their educational setting is.
Speaking to children and staff, including senior leadership teams, the young ambassadors carry out observations and ask a series of questions, based on a framework developed with CYP, about what a should be in place to support them.
Following the visit, the children discuss what they found, write a report and grade their setting. The expectation is that the feedback will then be actioned and everyone involved looks to become more inclusive.
This project is still being developed with ECC but is one we hope will grow and not only support schools and settings to become more inclusive but also put children and their voices at the heart of these changes.
